ELBlog #189:
Solve World Hunger, Tell No One
As the holiday season is upon us I wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday and certainly a happy new year! From my family to yours, keep surviving and thriving!
One of the traditions we enjoy is watching classic holiday movies together. Like many families, we love the grinch with Jim Carrey. It’s just so well done and very funny. My kids started to repeat the lines of when the grinch was complaining about being invited to the village and started reviewing his schedule.
At 5 o’clock, he says the line, “solve world hunger, tell no one.”
Here is the full dialogue of his schedule:
Well obviously this is a comedy film, but this line jumped out at me. There are so many things going on in our world and our lives that are great news, yet we don’t celebrate them. Not celebrating in the way of saying look at me, look at what I’ve done, but more so as look at this great person I work with, or look at this great achievement by this person. We should be celebrating what we are involved with, and the people who are making it happen. We have opportunities everywhere to lift others up around us and celebrate the good things going on.
Why does Facebook and social media become an avenue for negativity where people like to vent and bash others, yet there are so many positives and good things out there.
During this holiday season and beyond continue to be a beacon of hope for others. When good things happen, celebrate them. Solve world hunger and tell everyone? Absolutely!
Celebrate the good things going on around you, not in a look at me type of way, but more so celebrating the event itself and the great people associated with it.
Keep rolling everyone. If I can help you with anything don’t hesitate to reach out at @andrewmarotta21 on Twitter.
