On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I went for a walk to an old lighthouse in Rockport, Maine. There was a cool breeze, calm waters, and just the most perfect temperature. It was beautiful. On my way, I saw this at the end of the walkway. A bag with keys in it, and a note. At a quick glance, I figured someone had lost their keys. Indeed it was lost keys, but someone took the time to put it in a baggie and leave a note. How nice is this?
I love to see kindness in our world. I love to see extra effort, and people going out of their way to help others. This was a simple gesture, but a really nice one. They could’ve just walked by the keys and left them where they were. Eventually, weather or rain would have ruined them, but they took the time to put it in a baggie to protect it, and put the rocks on it to hold it in place. Let’s find opportunities in our lives to help others and provide those glimpses of kindness and hope. Maybe the key owners will walk out shortly and find their keys. Whoever did this, I commend you. A simple act of kindness for a stranger that will never be repaid.
Keep rolling friends! Keep finding glimpses of kindness and opportunities to provide that kindness for others. If I can help you in any way don’t hesitate to reach out at @andrewmarotta21 on twitter.
