I travel quite a bit, either for work, or with my family on trips. I try to buy a sticker or a magnet from every place I go. The magnets brightly cover our garage refrigerator, and the stickers are spread around the polls in the garage. As I get into the car each day to go to work or out, I enjoy looking at all of the magnets and stickers, and it reminds me of all these great memories I have.
One trip this particular year, however, wasn’t a great experience. This was for a combination of reasons, including the travel, the weather, and many other factors. It just was not a good time. I still bought a sticker and the magnet though.
As I packed my bag, I held them in my hand and asked myself. Do I really want to put these up with the others? These are all my and my family’s memories of great experiences together.
I paused and thought about it. Yes, I would hang them up. Not all experiences are gonna be great. Not all days are going to be sunny. The stickers and the magnets would help me to enjoy the good times even more.
Are your memories in good times and in bad? Sometimes the memories of bad experiences help us grow and focus on building new ones.
So there they are, proudly displayed amongst the many locations I have been blessed and fortunate to travel to. Enjoy making those memories, not all will be great, but they are your memories and that is how we grow and learn.
I wish you the best on your journey! If I could help you in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out at @andrewmarotta21 (https://twitter.com/andrewmarotta21) on Twitter.
