I just got back from the most amazing trip to Greece and Italy with my oldest daughter, Claire. It was a stunning experience of culture, history, food, wine, and breathtaking views. It was a priceless opportunity to spend time with my daughter, and experience these different cultures.
There were so many things I enjoyed that were new, but so many things I was able to recall from my previous time in Italy. I lived in Italy, in the Tuscany region, from 1999 to 2000. It was an amazing experience in my life that I will never forget.
When I once again heard the Italians pick up the phone or greet me at their counter saying “pronto,” it brought me right back. “Pronto” in Italian means ready. That’s how they greeted me. That’s how they pick up the phone. What a great statement! Imagine being ready for everyone who comes your way?
It brought back so many pleasant memories, and made me reflect on my energy when I greet people. Am I actually ready to serve them? To address their needs, and to listen to their concerns? We need to be ready. We are leaders, educators, business people, and more. Pronto!
Stick that in your pocket as a mindset, and be ready to serve those we encounter.
Keep rolling on your journey and if I can help you in any way don’t hesitate to reach out at @andrewmarotta21 (https://twitter.com/andrewmarotta21) on Twitter. Keep surviving and thriving friends!
