A man goes to visit his therapist. After the first two sessions, the therapist goes, “To be honest, we have now met on two occasions and I just don’t get it. You seem like you really have it all together. Family. Spouse. Career… What is it you are looking to get out of these sessions?”
The man responded, “Well.. I think I’m pretty good at most of the things in my life. I’m a good father, a good husband, a good employee – but I want to be great at those things. That’s where you come in. I’m hoping you can help me become great at those things.”
The therapist laughs. “Oh, that’s an easy one pal. Being a good father is something you do for your children, being a good husband is something you do for your spouse, and being a good employee is something you do for your employer.
The key to helping you be great at those things is asking yourself, what do you do for YOU?”
