I do a lot of talk to text memos and writings, including this blog right now. Currently, I’m walking on a beautiful flat path. The only sound I hear is that of the birds chirping and the gravel beneath my feet.
It allows me to sync. It allows me to breathe. It allows me the space I need in my head and in my heart. One of the things that I like so much about that is I can do two things that are very important to me: visualization and affirmation. I can affirm and tell myself the person that I want to be, and then see that person in action. I can see myself being positive and trying to impact and reach others in a positive way. Visualization and affirmation. These are two very important self-care techniques that I don’t think we do enough of as leaders.
Give it a shot! Whatever your exercise routine is, walking and moving in spaces where it’s safe and quiet allows you that opportunity. The flow of oxygen through your lungs and into your body increases so many activities in your body. This allows for the space and conditions for you to affirm yourself, and then visualize who it is and what it is that you would like to do an accomplish.
Keep rolling friends and keep surviving and thriving. If I can help you in anyway don’t hesitate to reach out at @andrewmarotta21 on Twitter.
