I went skiing one beautiful Sunday afternoon back in January. I had seen a number of adaptive skiers with guides throughout the day. I was excited for those young people to get the experience of skiing despite their disability. A massive shout out to the guides helping the kids. Then my mouth dropped. I saw a young person with a bib on that said blind skier. I couldn’t believe it. He was holding a bar and there were two guides on each side of him. They were getting ready to head down the mountain.
I was dumbfounded. I had never seen anything like that. It got me thinking about the trust that this young man put into both of the guides that he would be ok the entire time. To literally head down the mountain blind is incredible. My heart went out to the group, as I watched intently as they confidently and carefully guided him down the mountain. It was amazing! I was so impressed and so happy for that young person.

It got me thinking about the trust. Could I be that person for someone else? For someone to trust literally with their life? Also, who are the people in my life that I could trust like that? Several came to mind which warmed my heart thinking about those deep and committed relationships that I’m blessed to have with others. I hope that my name will pop on the list for a number of people to trust me in that matter.
Our goal as leaders is to continue to support those on their journey. This is another example of the different levels of support. This young person needed a good amount of support and those wonderful guides were there to provide it. Amazing.
Continue to support others on your journey and be that trust and support. Keep rolling friends.
