The first time I was blessed to meet Dr. Rob Gilbert back in 2014, he handed me ten books and encouraged me to write my own. Dr. Rob is a sports psychologist at Montclair State University. He is the creator of the Success Hotline and a great friend and mentor. He has helped me so much on my journey and in many facets of my life. I’m extremely grateful to him. If you don’t call the Success Hotline yet, I highly recommend that you do. Phone: 973-743-4690. It is also found on Itunes podcasts under success hotline, click here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/success-hotline-with-dr-rob-gilbert/id1532154557?l=ru
In March 2024, I had a chance to bring Dr. Gilbert with me to a speaking engagement. It was truly an honor to have him join me, and we had coffee beforehand. Dr. Gilbert brought a large bag with him. We were only going for a couple of hours, so I was a little confused on why he had such a big bag, but when we sat down at the diner, all became clear. He said, “Ok let’s get started,” and he began to one by one hand me a different book, each with a different message and theme.

These were books that people had given him, books that he had bought for other authors, and some from his own personal collection. Each had a different learning point. I was blown away. He also gave me a step tracker to help me reach 10,000 steps a day.
What a mentor! What a friend! Dr. Gilbert continues to give each and every day via the Success Hotline, but then again, in moments like this, he blew me away.
How can we be that mentor for others? What type of ask, help, guidance, or gifts can we provide for those around us? Dr. Gilbert is a true gem who continues to be a mentor, friend, and guide for so many.
Thanks for this incredible gift of mentorship. What book are you reading now? And which books are you giving to others?
Keep rolling on your journey, friends, and keep surviving and thriving.
