I love Panera Bread. I go there often when I’m traveling. You can get healthy food, pre-order it, and know what you’re getting. I recently ordered one of their new creations called a salad stuffer. Perhaps you’ve seen the new commercials for it. They take out the inside of the bread, leaving just the shell, and stuff it with their salad, which I’m a big fan of.

One afternoon, I picked up my order, and I saw some handwriting on the receipt. The employee shared that they were out of cucumbers, but they added extra chicken. I smiled at the note and was glad that I was getting more protein.
What a simple fix! They could’ve just left the sandwich with no cucumbers, but then I would’ve felt like I was missing out. The fact that they doubled up on the chicken without even asking was such a simple fix. They also could’ve held the order and waited until I got there to ask me, but that would’ve been more of an annoyance.
Kudos to the employee for seeing the deficit in the order and making a quick adjustment.
Too often, we see that when someone or something isn’t available, they’ll cancel it or leave it out. Always see what you can do to make it up if there’s a deficit. Do that little extra, make the extra attempt to make the situation whole.
I appreciated this employee’s simple fix! Keep finding ways to do more than expected!
Keep surviving and thriving, friends!
