I recently visited Malvern, Arkansas, to join the Dawson Educational Services school leadership conference. As I drove into Malvern, I saw a giant sign that said “Brick Capital Of The World.”
The sign was beautifully made, and proudly on display as you entered the town.

I parked over on Main Street, and went for a wander to get a better feel for the town. It got me thinking. The Brick Capital Of The World. Everybody’s proud of something. Obviously, there’s a long history about bricks in the community here. However, regardless of where you go, or who you talk with, everyone is proud of something. Everyone has something that they’ve represented, or been a part of. Even though it might look small to another person, to that individual it means a lot. Remember this on your journey. Ask people about what they are proud of?
When we can recognize these things and celebrate them alongside others, it empowers them, energizes them and adds to the pride that they have for that event, that person, or that brick in that community!
When I referenced the brick capital of the world multiple times during the leadership event, I could see the smiles and the nods from the participants that day.
Remember, everybody’s proud of something!
Keep surviving and thriving friends!

I’ve never ever looked back on how many accomplishments I’ve made and not too long ago I paused and said, look how far I’ve come! Of course when I realized it, happy tears and big smiles were happening. It didn’t quite hit me until the day of my college graduation June 6th. I looked back from day one of many times I’ve gone back or tried to go back to college. Single mom of 3 young kids at the time I had to stop, but finally years later, I went back. so many things happened In-between till now, but I am soo proud of my journey, even though some days were very hard, but look at me now I’m rock n this!! 🤘🏻my Journey isn’t finished !!
